The Blood Pressure Solution
Let me tell you a short story. I had been treating people as a natural therapist and hypnotherapist for 30 years. With four kids, one of them profoundly disabled, I got tired from time to time. But this time, I was exhausted. I had no energy, was overweight and lacking motivation. I used to go back to bed for an hour every morning after getting the kids off to school, then go to work.
A visit to my doctor resulted in the usual blood tests to find out what was going on. Everything was pretty much obvious: overweight, low in B12, needing to reduce stress, cholesterol a little high. I just needed to exercise a bit more, eat better, relax a little, reduce stress and things would be OK.
But there was one thing that really stood out. My blood pressure was 173/110. This was high, really high. I was scared. And to make it worse, I was used to helping people drop their blood pressure. For many years I designed individual programs and they worked. Now it was my turn. I got it down in a matter of weeks, and then after a few months it was routinely 110/73, and when under stress would go up to around 120/80. This was good. How I did it reinforced my view that every person is unique and they need a unique program.
Every person and their situation is unique
Every person needs a unique program tailored to their needs.
My experience has taught me that people needed individual programs. One size fits all programs don’t work for individuals – they just don’t.
I bought and critically read much the self-help information out there. Very little (actually, none) were written by an experienced natural therapist. Well meaning at best, misleading at worst and mostly copied from each other, that’s what I found. Some self-help people were just trying to sell a magic potion. Many were using stuff you could find for free, like the DASH diet You can learn about it here.
High Blood Pressure
What is the solution?
What program should I follow?
Imagine if you could change your whole life, by changing just one thing. Imagine being able to take charge of your health, lifestyle and the way you think (your mindset). Imagine you are able to permanently change your life, live healthier, feel better and know that it was you who did it.
Does that sound good?
Of course it does.
So your blood pressure is a bit high, even very high. You might even be on medication, or be considering medication. The fact that you are reading this is the biggest indication that you want to change, really change.
I teach people how to lower their blood pressure naturally
using drug-free methods that really work.
And I know this because I have done it for myself, and for my patients. The other exciting thing is that it is important not to do anything you don’t want to do. Really, don’t. In my experience, there is no point following a standard program, because every person is different.
You need to understand what high blood pressure really means for you now and in the future.
- How is hypertension affecting your health and lifestyle now?
- What have you been told could occur in the future if you don’t mange your blood pressure?
- What treatments or therapies or drugs are you using?
- Are they working well enough?
- What information do you need?
- What outcome do you want?
- When do you want it?
After that you need to examine the things you can’t really change, but you might want to pay attention to them. Then you need to be aware of the things you can change, and you may decide that some of them are THINGS YOU MUST CHANGE. There are always OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO as part of YOUR UNIQUE PROGRAM.
The Blood Pressure Solution, as a Supported Program, starts with a recap of your situation, usually starting with a questionnaire you complete before our first consultation. Once I have discussed and understood your situation, what you are doing and what you hope to achieve, then I can create a unique program, one that YOU AGREE YOU CAN DO, and one that actually suits your health, lifestyle and mindset.

9: DIET
Poor nutrition, too much or too little of certain foods or compounds in food can contribute to high blood pressure. Adjust your diet to feel better now.
10: THERAPEUTIC NUTRITION
There are foods you can include in your diet that will contribute to lowering your blood pressure. Learn how to use therapeutic nutrition.
11: TABLE SALT [SODIUM CHLORIDE]
High intake of sodium chloride increases blood pressure. Don’t add salt to food, and avoid processed foods, as well as not getting the Potassium/Sodium relationship correct.
12: CAFFEINE [and other XANTHINES]
Caffeine from coffee or energy drinks can increase short term blood pressure and affect sleep. If you have too much, reducing caffeine will improve your health. Caffeine is one of several xanthenes, all of which are stimulating. Xanthines are also in tea and cocoa (chocolate).
13: BREATHING
How you breathe can affect your blood pressure, and utilising therapeutic breathing can lower blood pressure quickly. Learn how to use breathing exercises.

Some drugs, including oral contraceptives, steroids, some “diet pills”, decongestants, even some pain relievers may increase blood pressure. Inform yourself about side effects.

19: SUPPLEMENTS
Certain supplements can provide therapeutic effects that will provide you with a better chance of lowering your blood pressure. Seek professional advice.
20: MIND OVER EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS
That was my hypnotherapy slogan for many years, as by teaching clients to use self-hypnosis, they were able to adjust their heart rate, lower stress levels and lower their blood pressure. Have you noticed “white coat hypertension”, where your blood pressure goes up just because a medical professional is about to take the measurement. You can train your mind to work with you, not against you.
I realise that everyone is not the same.
It makes no sense to write the same program for every individual.
You need a Supported Program tailored to your unique situation.
Remember, it is not your blood pressure that is the problem. How can a measurement be a problem? It is the effect of that high pressure. It is the lifestyle choices that contribute to the high blood pressure that are the problem. And the consequences of not making a change. The solution is to make different choices. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. But what results do you want?
Whether you want an “all natural” solution, or support to complement the treatment program you are currently on, or support to ultimately transition from drug therapy to more natural alternatives, I can work with you to achieve the results you want.
It is a holistic multi-disciplinary approach, based on my clinical experience and background in biological science, traditional herbal medicine and clinical hypnotherapy. I want to work with you in a way that gets you maximum benefit and results in a timely manner. Managing your blood pressure will improve your health and wellbeing now and protect you against future complications.
As your program may run over a several months after your first consultation, I typically schedule follow up sessions 2, 4 or 6 weeks apart, as we adjust the program to suit your unique situation. Herbs and supplements are charged separately.
